Pre-registration is required for all programs.REGISTRATION FOR APRIL/MAY/ JUNE/JULY/AUGUST CLASSES BEGINS ON SATURDAY March 23rd IN PERSON, AT 9:30 AM FOR APEC MEMBERS ONLY. Non-Member in-person registration and phone registrations will take place on from 1pm-4pm. REGISTRATION FOR JULY/AUGUST PROGRAMS WILL BE ONGOING AFTER MARCH 23. REGISTRATION FOR SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER/NOVEMBER/DECEMBER CLASSES IS ON SATURDAY, APRIL 20TH.
You may pay by cash, check (payable to APEC) or credit card (Visa, M/C or Amex). If registering by phone, you must pay by credit card.
Waiting List:
If it appears that you will be closed out of a particular class, please put you name on a waiting list. Additional classes may be formed. You will be notified if that occurs.
Missed Classes:
No refunds or credits will be given for one-time programs. You may give your spot to another child if the child is the appropriate age for the program. Please phone APEC to let us know the switch of names.
Make-ups are allowed for multi-session programs only if the front registration desk is notified before your child is noted as absent. Only TWO make-ups are allowed per SESSION. Sunny Bunnies participants are allowed three make-ups.
Age Requirement:
Your child MUST reach the required age for a particular program either before or during the month that he/she begins that program. ALL PROGRAMS ARE DROP-OFF UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED. Participants in drop off classes must be toilet trained.

Wee Sprouts – ages 18 - 23 months:

Open up the world of nature to your wee ones! Let your child’s first learning experience be at APEC. Children will pet animals, enjoy free play with environmental toys, go on mini-nature walks and have a snack. 7 participants. No siblings allowed except for infants in infant seats.

APEC Explorers
Entering Grades 2nd - 3rd
Explorers venture through woodlands, wetlands, meadows, and pond habitats. Learn more about animals and plants with friends while you use science tools, play games, keep a journal and work on special projects. Help care for our animals while you discover the wonders of science with hands-on experiences.

ALLEY POND PIONEERS
Entering grades 4th – 5th
The focus of this program will be for young Alley Pond Pioneers to explore the outdoors.
Classes can include beach clean ups, walking tours of Oakland Lake, hiking along Joe Michael’s Mile, catch and release fishing, and more.
Participants will also learn about local flora and fauna of Northeast Queens. Snack included.
Snack included. Limited to 14 participants.
Each pioneer should bring a bottle of water, head covering and apply sunscreen and insect repellant prior to drop off.
* Weather permitting, most of these classes will be outdoors. Home base will be APEC’s new log cabin.
