33rd Annual ArlineThomas
Urban Bird Literary and Art Contest

"Bring Blue Birds Back to Alley Pond Park"

Each year we celebrate the life and work of Arline Thomas, a local wild bird rehabilitator who devoted her life to the care of sick and injured baby and adult urban birds. Public, private and parochial school children participate in this popular event.

Come see the creative, original art projects and literary works related to birds, especially bluebirds, our NYS official bird. (exhibit lasts until February 2013) Prizes will be awarded and distributed to children whose artistic and literary expressions show unusual talent and in-depth understanding of urban birds. Local elected officials and dignitaries will be on hand to help us celebrate this special occasion.

A live bird demonstration will be presented to the children.
