Class Visits
APEC provides class visits for thousands of school children each year. All workshops provide educational concepts about various aspects of Alley Pond Park's living environment that will enrich the New York City and State science curriculum objectives.

K through Grade 5 programs incorporate some standards from the following:

  Science Standard 1, Analysis, Inquiry and Design;
  Science Standard 2, Information Systems; and
  Science Standard 4, the Living Environment.

Classes are held rain or shine; please dress accordingly – boots in wet weather, coats and hats in the cold, insect repellent in the spring.

Classes may bring lunch, and eat at our outdoor picnic tables, weather permitting. No indoor lunch facilities are available.

Discipline is always the responsibility of the class teacher. Adult supervision is mandatory. We recommend one adult chaperone for every six children.
